New Wine

We have just got back from a week camping at New Wine.

It was nice to spend time with Christians talking sensibly about things that matter, as a balance to the crazy Christians you encounter in the news and online.

It was also good to get to know some of the people from All Saint's a little better, as although I have been going there for a while it has been hard to get to know people.

DLR

At the moment I am working at a company that does webhosting, situated near docklands. The nearest DLR station is Crossharbour, so in the evenings I get the DLR from there, and then get the bus, and then walk. it usually takes about 50 minutes. Yesterday the DLR was being unhelpful - there was a long wait, and then the first train was a 'terminates here', the next then decided to terminate too, and an entire train full of people emptied onto the platform, to add to those already waiting. By now it was pretty full, and when the next train came up as being quite some time I decided to go for a walk instead. I knew the next station, Mudchute, was very nearby, so I set off to find it. It was very easy, so when I got there I sat down, looked at my A to Z and then made my way off to the next stop, Island Gardens! When I got to this one, I was so close to the Greenwich Foot Tunnel (which my dad used to get all the time) that I decided it wouldn't be right not to go through it. So I headed down the stairs, wondering why, if it was a foot tunnel, I had so far seen only cyclists! Once into the tunnel there were a few other non-wheeled people too, and I wandered along all 1217 feet of the tunnel to the lift at the far end.
I took the lift back up, and was most impressed at the way it had not only a chair for the lift operative, but also a bin, wood panelling, air conditioning, music, and a sign saying 'no photographs'! It was huge, apparently it has a capacity of 90 people.
When I got out of the lift I went across to the DLR station, past the rather sad sight of the Cutty Sark, all under covers for repair.
From Cutty Sark DLR I went only as far as Greenwich, which was the next stop, when I was diverted by the sky. It was so pretty I got off the train to admire it better, and took this photo (which is pretty much the entire reason for my post)

When the next train came along I hopped on board, and continued my journey as usual (only I took an extra bus rather than walking the last part of my journey, as my reward for all that extra walking earlier!)

I know - pointless post - but pretty sunset!
